Healthy Life, Ray D. Strand, 2013

So, at the request of a colleague, I read Ray Strand's book "Healthy Living".

The first thing that caught my eye and confused me was that the materials are verified and approved by Amway LLC, a well-known manufacturer of dietary supplements under the "Nutrilite" brand.

This book is similar to many others; it frightens with obesity and related diseases. Useful information is mixed with useless and harmful elements into a popular cocktail.

There are undeniable points about how important physical activity and moderation in food are.

There are useful insights—already in 2013 the author writes that diets do not work and the yo-yo effect, explaining why this happens, and that coronary artery disease is not caused by cholesterol, bravo!
He also names scales as an enemy, which earns respect.

Next, the author talks about the harm of fast food, glycemic index, and that sugar causes addiction, like the strongest drug (hmmmmm…)

What does he propose? To drink purified water, 8-10 glasses a day, to move for at least 30 minutes a day. To eliminate dairy products, red meat, offal, oysters, and lobsters, to control carbohydrate intake to avoid insulin spikes (about 40% of the diet), and to take dietary supplements.

What does he promise? Weight loss, increased insulin sensitivity, excellent physical condition.
